SX Transition to propeller

So with the EOL of SX I thought it would be an interesting topic to start a thread on tips to convert projects from SX to Propeller. I started playing with propeller when it first came out but that was when it was around $12 and SX was $2.95. Now that propeller is around $7 and SX is at almost $4 with a pending EOL notice, by interest (and I'm sure many others) have turned back to the rather powerful Propeller.
There have been many talks about level shifters in the past, and a rather lengthy debate on one of the forums related to the need (or some said not)·for level shifting when dealing with I2C devices that operated in 3.3 have were communicating with a 5V device (such as the SX), or the other way around.
To start. What are good·level shifting options out there for board designs using 5V communications devices (now speaking with an SX), that would like to move over to a Prop design?

To really output at 5V, you need some kind of active circuit...
I'm starting to think that using an ACT logic chip is the easiest way...
