This is all Charlie Dixon's fault. He created such a beautifully documented piece of programming art that even I could understand it:)

But... being in Spin, Charlie's object was limited to about 1Ksps... and I wanted more. So, I translated Charlie's object into Pasm and added the rudimentary ability to control the acquisition rate... and it topped out at around 94Ksps. All of the specs seem to indicate that this is pure non-sense.

Is it?

oops... forgot to add the archive:)

Given the data sheet says ~12k samples/sec I suspect you might have issues with accuracy and reliability :)

lt's not particularly silly, is it?

For a static signal it seems fine... I have had the code sitting around for three weeks and haven't had time to give it a signal I can trust... that's the next step. I am planning to submit something close to this to the OBEX so any other comments or criticisms would be more than welcome.

The reasonable possibilities seem to be 1) the Specs are understated and the product will actually work fine at 94Ksps. 2) The product will become unreliable and possibly fail due to over-clocking.

I am going to put a post into Linear to see if they would like to comment.

    Thanks Brad
