serial communication

OK not sure what I did or didn't do.
Unpacked from a move.
setup my stamp, and now I'm not getting communication.
I'm using a USB to serial converter cable.
Worked fine with XP before I left Vegas.
Now I get NO to LOOPBACK, and YES to ECHO.
can anyone help.
I am a novice user.

Move back to Vegas and see if it still works there (I doubt it will). How is it powered and connected? Check connections, batteries, cables, drivers. Are you still using XP and is the stamp and board the same?

The loopback is an indication that the cable is not either installed properly, or connected correctly. Which USB to Serial cable are you using?
