There are more and more plants now that will take your .brd file. Sunstone circuits will, I use them all the time and just send up the .brd.

Basically in the cam section you pull up Gerber 247 and select the layers you want to create from the list. You will need to find out from the plant what files they want. Name the files appropriately. Bundle the whole folder of files into a zip. I am sure your plant has some instructions on this. Also the cadsoftusa.com is a great source for this stuff.

You must run a CAM file on the PCB to get output gerbers.

The CAM must be setup for which gerbers are output, and how they are processed.

We have a standard CAM file for gerber output if you need. It is based on a 2 layer board, with components only on top.

I would need to get it off my other computer......but let me know if you want it.

NOTE: to run a CAM you must be viewing any layer that the CAM is going to process. If the layer is not visible....the CAM will not process that layer.

Advanced Circuits is very good, I buy from them. When you do get your gerber files output you can look at them using viewmate http://www.pentalogix.com/ The viewmaster program allows you to edit and save the files but is not free.

It is ice to see the gerber files you produce so you know what they look like.

Advanced sends you files you can look at as well when you submit your files.
