The 2009 EDN uP listing that has just been published doesn't include the Propeller, although it does have similar products from XMOS and Intellasys. I can't remember if it was included last year.

IMS the Prop didn't appear in the 2008 edition of EDN's micro listing either.

Looking at Bill Wong's Lab Bench column for October 1st, "Multicore is everywhere these days, form laptops to servers." There is a perception that multicore exists only in relation to BIG systems. But later we read, "On the hardware side, there are even low-cost multicore options for embedded applications like XMOS's XS1-L1 ...", and so on, but no ink for Propeller. I am sure Bill Wong is aware of the Propeller, because he talked in very positive terms about it in his August 13th column. There it is in the context of "Do You Remember When ...", comparing the Intel 8748 of year 1976, then "Spin ahead to 2006 and we have the Parallax Propeller". A nice tribute, but what context, huh?

I think that the EDN editors will need some direct input from Parallax to include it in next year's listing.

I wouldn't count on getting chips or support from Intellasys - www.colorforth.com

I got some chips out of them, with some difficulty, before Chuck Moore parted company with them. I haven't done anything with them, though.
