Hello,
I was looking at some parts that I had bought when I started with the BSII. I found a new 29121 LCD AppMod. My question is if I can modify some prop code or write some to use this appmod with my prop. The connections are easy, but is the appmod just for the BS products?

Hello Cenlasoft,

in the parallax product description you can read:

"The display uses a 4-bit parallel interface (Hitachi HD44780 compatible)"

here are the objects

Parallel LCD Driver

you just have to adapt the code to 2x8 characters

Also don't forget to account for the difference in voltage as the LCD runs at 5V while the Propeller is 3.3V. If you are only sending data to the LCD you're fine, but if you read anything back you'll need to protect the Propeller pins.
