New project

My boy and I took yesterday off to unplug and play some Pinball at the White Rose Gameroom Show in PA.
We came home with a new project.. :) I'm thinking that among other things, we'll replace all the lights
behind the glass panels with Propeller controlled Ultrabright LEDs. :)

I'd put a full Propeller based arcade together, but we're gonna save that for the next box, as my son
is pretty set of making a MAME arcade out of this one. :)

OBC: Retrofit this for JAMMA, if it's not already compliant. From there, you can very easily make a propeller compatable connector board. Open the back hatch, unplug the MAME rig, and connect the prop. Close, fire up, and away you go!

We're having some serious "second thoughts" over here about doing a PropARCADE.
If we could win even 3rd prize in the Propeller contest, it would pay for the next one. :)

nice find Oldbit. I picked up an old Mrs PacMan a while back. also growing up in the 80's it almost brought tears to my eyes to fire it up and listen to the music.

my intent was to make it into a "Propcade" but as i got into the project, it just made more sense to go the MAME route. it's a lot of fun!

for the record I didn't destroy a perfectly good mrs Pacman. The only thing that worked was the sound.

    Good luck!

I used to work at an arcade back in the mid eighties doing game conversions, I think the JAMMA connector would be the way to go because its a standardized pin out. If your game has a universal replacement power supply be sure to check the voltages with a load before reusing it.

    OBC,
I wish I would have known about this event. It's only about 45 minutes from my home. Dang...
