Asynchronous Serial Comms w/ 8N2

Hello All,

I'm trying to interface the Propeller to another uC using asynchronous serial. However, the other uC sends 2 stop bits instead of the regular 1. All of the objects I have found in the exchange seem to assume 8N1 and it's not obvious to me where I would change that. I'm continuing to look for ways to modify the other uC, but I thought I would see if anyone knows how I could get the Propeller to accept 8N2.

Anyone have an idea? I doubt I'm up to writing my own serial driver at this point.

The standard FullDuplexSerial object always sends two stops (one before and one after) but only expects at least one in return. This way it's compatible with other serial ports that might be picky and want 2 stop bits in return which is usually because they are bit-bashed and need the time to process the character.

The prop will accept 2 stop bits as it is just like a little delay between characters. However, transmitting is a different issue and I do not recall if FDX can do that. Initially, try just pausing between sending each character until it has been transmitted. Once it is working, then you can look at a solution, and perhaps someone will chime in with a solution in the meantime.

Thanks everyone for the advice. It turns out I had the connections wrong and it's working now with the regular FullDuplexSerial object.
