Hi guys I am trying to build my gadget gangster SX board its only half way done I think I can not for the life of me find the complete documents no schematic , only partial how to I have quite a few left over parts I have no idea where they go
if anyone has built this board the SX kit can you please tell me where does the 4 pin programming header go? where does the extra capacitor yellow go where do the slider switches go I only got as far as I did by finding a picture of the completed board but its a side picture so I cant see all the parts ??? LOL I don't get it

The "designer" made a PDF set of instructions.

Didn't see anything in there about a capacitor.· If it's a 1uF, suspect it goes across the volt_reg's output.

PJ I have that but it does not explain where the parts go its broken down into sections the power supply the pots and the SX chip but if you look at it its only partially complete I do have the power supply section going and I even have the pots mounted but nothing else makes any sense and I have ended up with a bunch of leftover parts ??????? Either I am missing something blatantly in front of my face or the documents have to be somewhere else because I would challenge anyone to try and build this with what docs I have???

Thanks anyway I am hoping someone else that bought this kit can jump in and point me in the right direction.

I've seen the kit but had already built my own from an old SX28 protoboard. For programming (assuming you have an SX-Key or SX-Blitz) all you need to do is have the connection for ground, +5V, and the two OSC lines brought out to a 4-pin header. It probably also has a pullup on the reset line and some filtering caps.

As a reference you may want to take a look at the data sheet and schematics for the SX28 and SX48 Protoboards on the Parallax site. Just keep in mind that the SX28 Protoboard uses the surface mount version of the SX28 which has a slightly different pinout than the DIP version.

Perhaps the "designer" of the programming kit you bought will read the forums and can make some comments on the design.

If you are still stuck can you post some pictures of your board so far. It shouldn't be too hard to get it fixed and working.

Pots and Caps you say?· Did they send you the right kit?

That PDF of instructions (hot-linked above) shows how it's placed on page 6.·

Are you asking how to situate the SXKey/Blitz on that header?

I just had a look at those instructions and they don't include a schematic!

Thanks ,, Yea Leon that was kind of my point . Looking at the instructions do you see how to complete the kit??? Nick emailed back but just pointed me to the same PDF file I already have,, I bought the SX kit it comes with an RCA connector a 4 pin header, 2 5K pots, 2 slider on off switches, 3 ceramic capacitors, 3 power caps, a voltage regulator , power connector and a diode and some resistors an LED jumpers and the SX socket I have to say its a very decent price for what you get but if you cant assemble it????? I also bought several other projects
I honestly thought they were not showing the assembly documents unless you were a customer and once you purchased the kit\kits it would show you the full install details I am really surprised I would love to hear what others have experienced
