Is there a hyperterminal app that works in Vista?

Also can you communicate with hyperterminal from a BS2?

Why not just use the BASIC Stamp debug screen? It's way more user friendly than HyperTerminal.

While the debug screen is useful, sometimes another terminal program is more applicable.

If you Google "hyperterminal for Vista", there are several alternatives, including some free standalone Hyperterminal versions.

Yes the BS2 (and any other Stamp I've tried) will talk to Hyperterminal quite nicely.

    Cheers,

You might look into the the Parallax Serial Terminal software from the page above and give it a try with your BASIC Stamp. It was written as a replacement for some of the functions of·Hyperterminal for the Propeller Education Kit labs when Vista came out, because the PE Kit Labs were initially dependent on Hyperterminal.

The Parallax Serial Terminal is a stand-alone program but is very similar in appearance and functionality to the BASIC Stamp Editor's Debug Terminal. It's Baud Rate options have settings between 300 and 3,000,000.

I've used these for different purposes:
    - Mitty
    - LynxTerm
    (think both are free)

I've been able to copy the Windows XP hyperterminal over to my Vista machine and it seems to work ok.
