PropCore another squared propeller board

Hi, the number of propeller boards is increasing, so I announce another version: PropCore.
The intention is to have a small board that can be stacked in at least three dimensions. It will be a multilayer pcb, the back side is completely empty and covered with pads, so additional circuits can be mounted.
The board fits onto the protoboard and allows free usage of all pins. Schematic will follow as soon as the design is frozen.

    Nice board. Having this option without using a hacksawed ProtoBoard would be good. I wish the pins were more flexible though. The series resistor is good, but I wish the connection was straight from the Propeller to the outside edge and from there through series resistor to the inner pins (but where would you put the resistors?). Using such a connection scheme would allow more flexibility for interconnected "PropCores" in a stack or side-by-side. It is sad no one else has commented.

    I think it would be interesting to make the board work for more than 3 dimensions...

    It seems very similar to on of mctrivia's propmodules. I think he made or was working on a minimum propeller design.

    It happens to me much of the time. I like to think that people look at it and don't have anything to add, but it's probably just a poor title. I generally don't spend more than 10 seconds scanning the titles and tabbing the interesting ones, so if it's not immediately catchy or is surrounded by something a bit more catchy, I'm likely to miss it.

    Nice compact design. What tool are you using for the layout?

    I'm getting the impression that there are more boards than applications. wink.gif

    I think the board can benefit from a 45° rotation of the propeller chip.

    There are many boards and plenty of applications, I just do not see how to overcome the slow I/O, I mean without losing many COGs. I think mctriia's board albeit too expensive is the way to go.

    The superprop of course ! The propgalore I think it is better achieved like this www.xmoslinkers.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=301, without props.

    Yes super prop is not cheap. Parts cost a lot. So I can't make cheap.

    As for propgalore i have it archived incase interest comes back but i think infa prop which I am giving away will get more use.

    Hi, I'm quite busy this time and didn't have the opportunity to make any documentation. Just an explanation: The connectors allow stacking of board and connecting with pins.

       Out  Inner
       |    |
    ==>|<==>|<============== A
       |    |
       |    |
       |    |
    ==>|<==>|<============== B
            |
    --\     |
       |    |
    ==>|<==>|<============== C
            |
            |
            |
    ==>|<==>|<============== D

    The outer row is connected to the propeller, the inner row to the outer row on the solder side. if you cut this connection, the prop pin of Board C can be connected from outside, but board B and D are still connected via the inner pin. The serial resistor can be 0R, whatever. There will be additional solder pads to place the ADC and DAC components. So "bussed" pins and single pins are possible in a mixture. More to follow

    I use eagle and will publish the schematic and layout as soon as prototypes are verified
