basic stamp 2 sx problem rs232 with pc

hi i recently finisih my automatic liquid dispenser with basic stam 2sx, works ok.
but when i reset the machine, when the machine come's up online, hang the
basic stamp, and i need to reset it. i try with console port , with another serial
always make the same error, y i start the machine and the later start the
basic stamp works fines. please some help here.

When used for communication (not programming) just make up a cable with no connection to pin 4 (on the Stamp end).
I think the newer Stamp boards have two capacitors on pin 4 which will still allow a reset but it won't hang the Stamp. Have a look at the diagram for the Stamp Carrier Board or any of the others to see how to connect the capacitors.
