Basic Stamp 2

Hi, I'm trying to have my BS2 communicate with a 2.5V power suplly digital sensor. The BS2 outputs 5V on its I/O pins, which I can lower with a voltage divider to accomodate my sensor, but what the other way around? If the digital sensor's output is lower than 5V, won't the BS2 get confused?

Kind regards,

    Thx, that was quick!

So if I'm not to worry about the sensor's digital output making sense to the BS2, should I still care about feeding 2.5V to the sensor? I don't want to ruin it...

The·BS2 may not have any problem with the output levels of your device. ·The input threshold is aprox. 1.4 V.··I believe·that a·voltage divider would be a safe way to adjust the output·of the Stamp to the 2.5 v device.

if your output was ever lower than the threshold value you could always add a transistor to amplify the signal.
