RFDigital 2.4Ghz modules for $15, too good to be true?

I am looking at RFDigital's 2.4Ghz modules for a project and was wondering if anyone has any feedback?

2.4 GHz RF Module with built in RFDP 8 Application Protocol
RFD21733 With onboard antenna
RFD21735 For use with external antenna

The low cost and ease of use is very inviting, but is it too good to be true?

No, these have four modes of operation: UART, 3 logic Input, 3 logic output, or active RFID.

RFDigital does have WiFi 802.11 modules for $79.95, but the datasheet says preliminary, so I am uncertain if they are released to production.

Technically, these should be nice units. I do notice they are still at the "FCC approval" pending stage so you would have to be careful if putting them in a commercial or sellable product.
