I know code has been writen for a prop to program the eeprom on another prop. I was wondering can a prop program a jtag device.

It's often done with other MCUs, or even via a printer port.

The MAXII (based on datasheet and some ANs) heve the possibility to have the jtag pins available to internal logic. If this is for your SP design I think that once the cpld has been first programmed with such design then it can be reprogrammed by the MC through the databus (without using external jtag pins and of course with proper initial internal logic desing).

Actually I was thinking of putting a prop sd card and io expander on the programing/test rig.

Then you could just press a button and it would program and test the superprop
