Measuring AC Voltage

I'd like to use the Basic Stamp to measure AC line voltages, but am not sure about the interface circuit.
Possibly convert to DC, then use a voltage divider circuit?

    What type of measurement do you want? Just average voltage or AC following?

    The safest and cheapest solution would be to use a small power transformer that takes the 120VAC and produces maybe 6VAC, then use a bridge rectifier and filter capacitor on the output to produce roughly 10VDC which you can run through a voltage divider to measure with the Stamp. There are other solutions, but most of the safe and simple ones would also use a small power transformer.

    Use a·9 volt transformer to make 120· volts this might be Little closer but may be harder to find

    ·Allot saver than 120 volt AC· and easier to do Trust me on this one

    Here is something that might work for you it is 12 at 150 milliamps

    Now what I have done in the past is load the power supply with (ADD enough)·LEDs to bring the NO LOAD voltage·to 12 volts and just move (.)·to the Line Voltage value
