GPS using Parallax

Hi I am trying to create a gps tracking·system using the following items:

-Board of Education (BOE)
-RF reciever
-RF transmitter
-4x20 serial LCD, backlit
-GPS receiver

currently I am still very lost and I need help. Can anyone let me know what is the first step to do? I believe I have to download a programmer from the website but there's too many choices. I hope someone will be willing to help me with the whole thing as I am very new to this.

CAN SOMEONE LET ME KNOW WHAT PROGRAM I AM SUPPOSE TO DOWNLOAD!

The program you need is PBasic. It is on the CD that comes with the BOE. For the latest version go here: http://www.parallax.com/tabid/441/Default.aspx·and download the appropriate version for your OS. I would recommend reading the manual that comes with the BOE, if you got one. If not, you can go here http://www.parallax.com/tabid/477/Default.aspx·and download the Basic Stamp documentation. I would also recommend completing some of the projects before jumping right in to what you are trying to do. This forum is an EXCELLENT resource, but you also need to do some of your own leg work.
