Problems with Motor Mount and Wheel Kit with Position Controller

Hello everyone,

I am using the H-Bridge VNH2SP30 to drive the DC motors of the The Motor Mount and Wheel Kit (#27971).

I am able to achieve proper speed & direction control, BUT, the problem is that I hear a "Beeping" tone when the motors are running. Why am I hearing this sound ? Is there an error in my circuit ? What should I do to remove this humming noise ?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance...

Sounds like the frequency of the motor controller you're using. Motors will generate sound if the PWM frequency is within human hearing range.

You mean like the sound a drill makes when it rotates slowly?

No purchase necessary. See back panel for more details.

Motor drivers with an H-Bridge pulse the voltage to the motors at a specific frequency. For example, the PWM frequency of the HB-25 we sell is around 10kHz. When a motor is first starting up or slowing down you can here this high-pitch sound coming from the motors. That is the ~10kHz pulse frequency. Your motors may be running at a lower frequency, but there is a resonant frequency in which the sound will be most apparent in your motors. Take care.
