I have learned something valuable.
if makeing a 6 layer design use
1,4,7,10,13,16
that way you can easily add layers in between later.
my problem is i used 1,2,3,4,5,16
anyone know a way to easily change layer 5 to 13, 4 to 10..
i can use the change tool to change 1 trace at a time but that is a lot of work and causes issues with it wanting to make vias. it does not work on vias.
i can redraw but that is a lot of work also.
any sugestions?

Highlight all of the layer to change from,
Change>layer and maybe alt/shift/apple click to new layer
Post on cadsoft.
Or search the ulp list for something.
If you have already routed then there is no way it will do it without trying to create new vias.

When you are routing (in the layout editor) and press the middle-button (of the mouse) to change layer a list is displayed with all possible routing layers from 1 to 16. As I use only 2-sided boards all layers 2 to 15 are superfluous in this list. I *think* there is a way to have this list customized with the layers you want to use. In the light version no list is displayed and the change between layers 1 and 16 is "automatic".
I hope it is more clear now.
thanks

to use only layers 1 and 16 you would enter
(1*16)
I am using
(1*(4*5*7*10*12*13*16))
