Hi guys I want to use my 1620 Temp sensor to measure a PIC chip but the PIC will be about 5 inches away from the 1620 board I built is there anyway I could use a length of copper wire to go to an input pin on the 1620 that would let me measure the temp
or would the whole wire have to heat up for me to be able to measure the PIC Temp????? Any thoughts would be appreciated
Thanks

The 1620 is the temperature sensor itself. There's nothing you can attach to it to be able to measure temperature somewhere else. You can try to conduct heat from your PIC to the 1620, but a lot of it will get radiated or conducted away and won't be coupled to the 1620 chip itself. You have to have some kind of temperature sensor, whether another 1620 or a thermistor, attached to the PIC itself and using some heatsink compound or metal-filled epoxy to help couple the two thermally.
