Marketing is running amok again: $22 Prop Proto Boards this weekend

Dear friends,

Lauren is in big trouble again. Good thing I decided to work from home today - she's giving away the store for Parallax's 22nd birthday! For you there's the Prop Proto Board at $22 (she even dropped the $.99 she usually has on prices). Marketing must have gone mad -- what a birthday party! We should start selling mattresses, furniture and maybe even cars with such deals.

http://www.parallax.com/Store/22BirthdaySale/tabid/767/CategoryID/88/List/0/catpageindex/2/Level/a/ProductID/423/Default.aspx?SortField=ISBN,ISBN

Click on the home page for the link to all of the $22 products and you'll see some other goodies you'd like to have, including sensors, Prop Plugs, and even the BS2-IC.

. . . can't seem to disable the sale prices from here. . . login not working!

Sincerely,

Ken Gracey

    Great News Ken!

I only wish it was Parallax's 10th birthday based on the prices.. wink.gif

But seriously this is good news; most businesses don't see 2 years let alone 22. Congratulations!

Ha! They sent you home on purpose, right?

    > Sincerely,

Na, that wasn't sincere enough! But good enough! wink.gif

The 4X20 display is the best deal, I don't know why anyone would buy the 2X20 when the 4X20 is the same price!

    But you·can·call me micro.

If it's not Parallax then don't even bother.

I have changed my avatar so that I will no longer be confused with others who use generic avatars (and I'm more of a Prop head then a BS2 nut, anyway)

The Basic Stamp 2 was on there, but is now gone.

By the way, I do not have a 4X20 display. I may also pick up another Prop Plug.

22 years is a long time!

It would be fun if you posted some photos from the first year.
There just has to be several interesting images somewhere.

How about Cash for Clunkers? I have a SYM-1 , a couple of Motorola MEK6800DK2 kits, and some S-100 parts to trade for a tube of 40Pin DIP Propellers :)

Congrats on the birthday!!· May·Parallax be here for many more years. I'll keep my cash going your way.

Is that from the Waybackmachine? That's a great site.

    1. Anniversary sale? Please confirm this item is just for fun:

    Micro-SD Card – 1GB Item code 27978... Sale Price: $22.00 You save: $2.99

When you check out it it says "just kidding smile.gif" and gives you a further $16.50 off - right?

See ebaY Item No. 290344406081, 1GB Micro-SD card, $5.39 USD ea. w/free shipping.

    2. The serial LCD is a pretty good deal at $22.00. More so if they would multiplex the back light so it doesn't draw so much darn current! Why isn't this possible? The back light is user controllable via the SX-based back-pack. A fringe benefit is dimming at no additional hardware cost.

    3. Next time please discount the prop-plug too! I think the margin on the prop-plug can handle it, big-time. It will really move more proto-boards. They go hand-in-hand for first-timers. I want to point people to this deal but I know most will not dive in as the prop-plug puts the deal above their threshold. The steep shipping and handling costs don't help either.

    Ya-Ya; I'm in a grouchy mood today...

I have this feeling that those were one of those items that they purchased a while
back and got "stuck" with them.. :)

I wonder if they still have any of their old parallax shirts. It would be cool to see them wearing them for their anniversary, especially next to the group wearing them when they were new.
