Multipurpose I/O Chip

I have recently ordered 2 of these http://www.web4robot.com/Flexel.html.·

These are multipurpose I/O chips that can be configured as 16 servo controllers, 4 PWM outputs, a stepper controller, 4ADC+2DAC, 20x4 LCD controllers, 4x7 segment LED controllers,·4x4 keypad interface, 16 digital I/O's,·and may provide a new way to slice bread and increase gas mileage by 50%.· They connect to BS's with a serial (9600-8N1)·connection or I2C for the 2P's.

The question is, has anyone used this yet, what are the pros / cons, any other comments or reviews?·

If it does all they say, I think it could solve issues for several people out here.· If not, I'm only out $20.

And not related, does anyone have tech knowledge of the Luttle Step-U stepper drivers.··

SSSSSSSSssssssmokin!!!! is funny in the movies·but not·in·electronics. :-(

Step-U -- just started using them for a project. They seem to work well, although I'm trying to figure out a pulse-width issue vs RPM myself...

Seems a bit expensive... Usually you will only need one or two of the functions on the chip, and then it'll be cheaper to buy discrete components or specialized chips.
