Unusual and very useful USB, Serial and VGA connectors
I had several of these things ordered. I think they will be time savers
for prototyping new projects. Price ranges from 6 to 10 dollars ea and
that does seem $$$ but since they are not meant for finished products
but just for speeding up development they will be re-used many times
and save $ because they should speed up design work![smile.gif](http://forums.parallax.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The very flexible VGA cables are nice as well.

I found these at www.l-com.com
This is where we buy our microwave dish antennas and rf connectors/cable assemblies.

I have made my own prototyping cables that are somewhat similar...· I chop one end off and wire it to pcb terminal blocks, which fit into any breadboard.· The other end plugs into whatever I need it to;· I've made cables for usb, serial, vga etc.··The terminal blocks are just a few cents each, and the cables are usually pulled out from the spaghetti in my junk box.

There are some terminal blocks a lot like those here, but none with
so many connectors, at least none I have happened to see. I will have
to scour the parts room.
Lots of old cables around that can be used.
I have been cutting the cables and soldering direct to test boards.
The wire is stiff so I drill out a suitable pair of holes and run the cable
through them for strain relief and then squirt hot glue on the cable to
stabilize it completely....it works and is essentially free, but pretty ugly.
