Hi,
I have to control 32 LEDS, 24 v, 2.4 watt using the basic stamp. Is it a good plan to use 4 shift registers and 32 solid state relais? I imagine the power through the stamp and the shift registers to the SSR's is to much for the stamp.
an other approach is:
I found a output driver board by EFX-TEK to control 16 opto-isolated outputs. these boards can be extended up to 4 boards to adress 64 outputs. Does this board work well with the basic stamp?

or, instead of a ssr, use a darlington array to control the leds.

so by using 4 shiftarrays, and 4 darlington arrays I can control 32 leds?

Either solution should work. I think the ULN2803 has a suitable voltage and current rating (check the datasheet). The EFX-TEK controller is intended for use with a Stamp.
