I've thought about that, but for my requirements I need it to be synchronized with the second. I need resolution down to the ms and even an external pulse will not tie the two together. When you read the Second from the DS1307 it will only tell you the Second, not the Millisecond within that second. So if I take the seconds as they come off the DS1307 and increase my own millisecond counter I will not able to create a proper timestamp. By capturing a point in time from the DS1307 then allowing the Prop to manage it while I’m recording data should work.
Not sure this is the best way for long term time keeping. But for recording of a few hours will work.
