Can't enable com ports in Windows SP3.

I have been using an older computer for working with my Basic Stamp. When I switched to my new machine, I find I can not enable any com ports as required by the Basic Stamp Editor v2.2. It all works fine on my old computer. Only difference I can find is that the new one is Service Pack 3 whereas the older one is SP2.

I tried manually entering ports thru the editor. Tried ports 1> 15 with no luck.

Any suggestions???

    Try running Basic Stamp Editor v2.4

    ?? What Is Your new machine running, Windows 98,2000,XP,Vista.,or is it a MAC.

    Thanks. I will track down BSE v2.4. Computer is a windows XP machine. Actually an Acer Netbook. Very small laptop but it meets all my needs and I love the portability. I have been writing stuff for my basic stamp BS2 for years. Kinda like other people do crossword puzzles. Thanks again.

    Did you check your COM ports in the Device Manager?

    Installing a current version of the compiler fixed the problem. Thanks for the help. It appears that SP3 handles com ports in a different manner than SP2. I hear that there are many software issues around the com ports between these two service packs.
