SPIN reference guide
Ex-Programmer
Posts: 2
Hi all!! I am brand new to this forum and just found out about Parallax a few days ago (my A/C repairman told me all about it), but I am very excited to get started. I was a programmer 25-30 years ago on a DEC Vax 11-780, writing programs in COBOL, FORTRAN, RPG-II, and some assembler. I also earned an Automated Systems/Robotics AA degree, along with spending time as an Electronics Technician in the Navy. I definitely want to start out with the Propeller, and would like to know where I can find a programmers reference guide for SPIN, so I can see all of the commands available, along with the proper syntax.
Thanks for your help

You can find the Propeller Manual there (Spin and assembly language manual), as well as the Propeller Tool (development environment), ICC (C compiler), ViewPort (debugger, logic analyzer and much more)

The Propeller Starter kit includes a printed version of the manual and a nice demo board to start with.
There are more advanced boards (including my own Morpheus) but the Starter Kit is an excellent way to start!
Hope this helps,
Bill

If you downloaded the Propeller Tool Software v1.2.6, you will find that there is a Spin tutorial built into the Help file, written to use the Propeller Demo Board. Also linked into the Help file are tagged PDFs for the Propeller Manual and for the Propeller Education Kit Labs text. The sample code for both are in the Tool as well.
Have fun!
