For just over a year now I have been hanging around these forums, listening and sometimes participating in the various conversations. In that year, I've completed my first year of college (as a CS major) and been changed quite dramatically. I'd like to thank all the forum members, both the "old timers" and the ones who don't ever post more than once. Watching in on the conversations, I've learned not only technical details but also what it means to be an engineer and how to be a better person. When I first joined, I didn't know one end of a Propeller from another, or how to solder effectively (patience!). But, more importantly than the technical knowledge that I've gained is the qualitative aspects of being an engineer: sell hardware, not software; communication is the most important aspect of a successful design; a good engineer can do tasks outside of his field; religion, politics, and age don’t determine the quality of a engineer or person(I’m always surprised when someone I think I know mentions one of these, and that I would have judged them differently had I known that up front). There are many more lessons that I've learned and have taken to heart.
I hope to continue to participate and contribute to these forums, and wish to thank all those who contribute. Please, keep up the good work.

I like various observations about growing, learning and participating in a community like this while also going to school for a degree.
