Mini LCD - Portable A/V display

Hi all,

Just grabbed one of the Mini LCDs that Parallax offers, and also one of their breadboard mountable RCA ports, hoping to get some video output happening, but for the life of me I can't get a picture up on the screen. It says on the store page that the screen needs a 12VDC power input, but the RCA port has no power input. It just has signal and ground. The signal is going to my propeller which is running at 3.3VDC, and I don't see any power jacks on the screen itself... Am I doing something wrong here?

    Just like the store says, you need a source of 12V power (with the proper connector on the TV end). There is a separate jack on the display for power. If you don't already have a 12V "wall wart", either pick one up from Parallax or from a place like RadioShack. In the latter case, bring the display with you so you can match up the jack with their supply of different sized plug adapters. With the RadioShack "wall wart"s, be sure to get the polarity properly set so the outer shell of the plug is (-) and the inner part is (+).

    Which Mini LCD do you have? I mean, what is the item code number. Each type has a downloadable pdf documentation sheet. For example, the 2 X 16 Serial LCD (Non-Backlit) - Item code 27976, the documentation is here -http://www.parallax.com/Portals/0/Downloads/docs/prod/audiovis/SerialLCD-v2.0.pdf

    The documentation should show you how to connect the LCD and give you lots of other useful information.

    I have the portable color LCD.

    Mike, you're right. I was looking on the device itself, but the power jack is on the cable! Blonde moment!!!
