The kit contains the Syntax book and the Stampworks book. However, Is there any diagrams that show how the onboard components get hooked up?

For example. The pushbutton switches are labeled 0 thru 7. However they have breadboard slots, 2 each, that just have numbers 0 thru 7 below them. Shouldn't there be a pinout for each side of·each pushbutton?

The stampworks book has not shown any diagrams·about circuit setup in regards to the professional development board. Any help would be appreciated.·

So the pushbuttons are active low. Which means whatever I hook up to them will be high until I push the button, then it will be low. How is this more beneficial than active high?

It's often easier to have ground as one side of a pushbutton rather than Vdd. If a pushbutton is at the end of a cable, it's more likely that there will be a ground connection available than Vdd and the pullup would be close to the microcontroller where Vdd is readily available.
