Do·I need to use a 5 volt regulator with the propeller chip if I am only using the chip for video output, or can I get by with just the 3.3 volt regulator?·

If you are not going to use a PS/2 keyboard or mouse, you can usually get away without the +5V (some old monitors may need it)

Watch the max input volts that the 3.3V reg can stand.

They often have very low parameters as though they assume that there will be a pre-regulator
