    Does that byte of memory hold "A", 65, $41 or %01000001 ?

Not that one exactly, but the similar ISL12020. These RTCs are loaded with features. Similar to the DS1307, same pinout in SOIC8, but much more flexible. Not exactly code-compatible. Note that some of the special features are available only in the more exotic DFN package.

The reason I was asking is that·I ask for· some free samples

That· why I wanting to see if there was a Demo Code for it

Do you think that the DS1307 code would work for this chip

Thank you for your replies and your help in this matter

Why don't you print out a datasheet for the DS1307 and print out the datasheet for your "free sample" device and compare them? You should be able to easily identify which registers are the same and which are different. The DS1307 code might work, but it might not. You'll find out if you compare the two devices' datasheets.
