I am using a HB-25 to control a trolling motor that can draw up to 8 amps.· The motor is a great emi generator, and the motor is causing·an associated gps receiver to lose lock.

Does anyone have· suggestions or experiences·filtering the motor noise before or after the HB-25?

Thanks.
Bernard

It all depends on how you're powering the motor and the other devices. It depends on how everything is wired, particularly where the ground connections go. It's difficult to make useful recommendations without more information. Can you post a sketch or schematic of how things are connected? How are you producing the power for the devices other than the motor?

Thanks for the offer to help!! With advice of friends that looked at the application, we were able to quiet the motor noise. We used ferrite beads, 10nF caps and wiring physical isolation to solve the problem. Also I now ramp the motor to speed, instead of just turning it on.

Take a look at my BS2p-40 application.
