So I ran into two image sensors that look very nice. Unfotunately no breakout board...yet.
The first one has i2c inteface and claims to be able to output at 30fps. Robot Shop and Sparkfun carry them.

There is also a 1 mega pixel version that can go at 15fps.

I have been looking at the c328r but I have hesitated because of the speed. Anyways this one looks pretty fast I was wondering if anyone has worked with them or had any good info. Thanks!

I have seen the Sparkfun one and it looks like it could be i2c'ed to the prop with a normal I2C object.

I think that the 1 megapixal one wouldn't be too hard..... It dosn't look too fast for the prop.

I picked up a couple of the 640x480 ones a few weeks ago... unfortunately I haven't gotten a chance to hook them up yet. It's really small, but the pads are reasonable to solder to. A breakout board would be nice though, since it needs 2.8V and 1.5V supplies.

OMG This camera from sparkfun is just absurd! I love it!

I'm planning on buying up a few of these. From the looks of it, I can make a good breakout board in a DIP wide format(like the DIP Prop pins spacing, 0.7" I believe). I'd be happy to make a batch for anyone else ordering these cameras. Just cover shipping and materials(~$1 total).

I'm going to hold off on buying some of these until someone gets an object in the OBEX for it. I'm not a coder - more of a hardware guy. However, I'd be more than happy to send a few breakout boards for free to anyone that wants to code an object. This camera looks like a fantastic addition to the Propeller gadgetry!

On the breakout you need 3.3v input , 3 diodes to tap 2.7,2.1,1.5 vdc.
    Ground
    SDA
    SCL

    I'm in .....

I'd definitely buy a breakout board... I planned on just printing one out on my laser printer, but I haven't gotten a chance to buy regulators, and I don't have the need for the cam yet, so it's not worth ordering them by themselves... but next time I order parts, I'll be ordering the regulators. Of course I can't guarantee that I can make it work, but I'd definitely give it a shot.

If you do a breakout, please bring all the pins out... there is an 8 bit parallel mode that interests me, if I ever get the time to play with it...
