I have finally finished the howto for my SD card adapter on instructables, and it is now available for purchase in kit form here.· If you have any questions, email, pm, post on the gadget gangster forums or this thread.

So, would anyone consider purchasing this kit...?

Cool! Great work Vaati. A SD card adapter for less than $20. I might just end up buying this one, as my Homemade one didn't work so well. -- ProccessingData...

Awesome! I had intended to make it cost as little as possible without removint too many features..... The card inserted was a no-brainer, because I personally wanted one. smile.gif

    Great Job! Some comments....

Your schematic doesn't match your design... :)

How about drawing up one that uses an LED and resistors? :)

Also, you didn't indicate the pinout of the pins. Was it designed to be
compatible with the row of pins on the Protoboard?

Something I like about both of your projects is the use of jumpers - it makes it easier to build the project (especially when you need to bridge a short gap).

@Vaati & ProsessingData: I LIKE the smell of solder! (My brother with which I share my room with will beg to differ, however. I still think that stepping on legos everywhere is worse then a little molten solder.) I think my parents are duplicates of yours. smile.gif

I need to publish my homebrew Protoboard to Gadget Gangster, and I think I just might buy your SD card slot. I could use one of those. My homebrew one didn't work so well :-(

As much as I would like to talk about how much Lego's hurt the feet and how good solder smells, this is getting a bit off-topic and I would not want it moved to the sandbox....

Back on the topic of the propeller, what is your homebrew protoboard like...? can you post a pic?

Sorry to drive that off topic.....

Anyway, I will try to dig it up. It didn't work but I think that the power is the culprit, not the device itself. I have absolutely NO 3.3v REGULATORS.
Vaati, I dare you to turn that into a sales pitch for your ajustable power supply. smile.gif

Accually, you could just use a $3 variable regulator from RadioShack. It's cheaper than ordering a 3V one, and it's quicker too.
    Vaati will testify to that!

bad idea to use variable regulator from radioshack. they are no where near accurate voltage output just ball park.

These variable voltage regulators are just as accurate as the fixed versions as they both use the same type of bandgap reference which is usually 1.25V. With the variable regulators you just add your own resistor divider to get a higher voltage but it is rather hard to get a standard voltage with standard resistor values so I always allow for an extra series resistor from the output to trim it. Use 1% resistors metal film (or better) to maintain stability, definitely don't use scrap-box resistors.

Yeah.... I think you should just use my Adjustable Power supply.... smile.gif It would be a LOT easier...

I use it to regulate the power from a dc adapter so the ittybitty regulators on my demoboard don't heat up too much... With a whopper of a heatsink, it can last a looong time...
