····· Wow!· I had a great time at the Expo!· Im a PROPNOOB and I learned an awful lot from the attendies and staff on Saturday.· It is really nice to be a part of the Parallaxian community of oddball inventors and curious minds that ranged from out of work General Contractors (myself) to multi PHD having techical gods.· Im fairly sure that the end of the world will be fascilitated by the amalgum of creations spewed forth from this Parallaxian community of brilliant "out of the box" (and out of our minds) inventors.·LOL··· Anyway I wanted to mention some Parallax people and say a few words about them.
thank you to the following Parallax peeps:
Kevin_· (skinny 23 year old with a new Motorcycle)· Thank you for working with me and educatiing me on CRC protocol and RS-232 Checksum / parity stuff.· I also appreciate the work on the CrystalFontz LCD display.· We must have spent a few hours on that and finally got it working.· Lastly your enthusiasm about my demented plan for world domination with the Propeller chip was incouraging. (Battery Management System)·Lastly but·Important :·· "Look through the corner no matter what"· "Throttle is your freind"· "to much brakes will create whole new breaks"·· " Be safe"
Dave:· Marketing guy· (the one whos son ran the Raffle)·· I hope i got your name right.·· I have worked with you in the past and you gave me my first tour of the Parallax fascilites about a year ago.· Your a great guy. Your son is destined for the stage or at least sales!·· great kid.
Beau Scwabe:· The Guy that used three pennies as electrodes at 3:00 am to attempt to pick up minute electric signals from muscle contraction and retraction.·· (It was late)· Thank you for your supprt and brilliant input concerning my Battery· cell Isolation / managent system..
Ken:···Tall guy, really nice, very generous and...uh... tall.···First of all the expo was brilliant.· ·Thank you for taking those kids at the solder table seriously.·· Those skinny·solder smokin hackers·are the future of technology.· I was amazed at thier inginuity and dedication to thier craft and creations.·· They were blown away by the gifts and support they received from you and your company.···Hats off·to you and your staff for seeing needs and filling them, for enabeling those that are hampered not by will power or drive, but by economic circumstance and social isolation.·
Male,··slightly thinning dark hair, short, ·Technical help line guy.· Dave I think?· Sorry about the description but I wanted to mention you because your selfless approach to customer service and real passion for what we do with all this stuff.·· It·makes you an increadibly valueable asset to the Parallax team.··Thank for the answers and ideas every time I call.·
The Sales girl / lady that was there all day taking orders (including mine)·· She has a picture of her kids as a screen saver,· Uh.. Dark hair.··· Helped all day with the food prep and distribution.· her name begins with a C.··I'm bad with names....· Any way.····Thank you for all your hard work and effort on a weekend to make the Expo possible.··You are a vey important "Cog" in the Parallax machine.· thank you for your courtesy·and easy going nature.· ·
Jeff from Ohio· (It is Ohio right?)· anyway.· I though you were a Parallax employee.··· Oops.· Thank you for getting this Unoffical Prop Expo in motion.· I had a great time and met alot of neet people including yourself who I would otherwise never have met.· I hope to see you again next year.·
thanks of course to all the people behind the scenes that served and prepared the food and took registration and listened to our hair brained ideas etc.·
I tell anyone I meet that shares·my interest in taking over the world or robots or general electronic mahem and madness that Parallax is the most supportive and passionate company any one could possibly hope to associate with.· I looked into various microcontroller manufacturers befor deciding on Parallax.· My primary reason for choosing your company was the cumstomer service and incretibly patient and easy manuals.· (Whats a Microcontroller?)· Absolutely Brilliant!· Every other manufacturer iether expects me to have a degree in programming and doesnt give a rip about my code problems.
Plus:··No one is even close to the Propeller.· Not even on the same page.· Or the same library for that matter...
·I, personally, am hoping to make a career out of using Stamps and the Propeller chips to integrate disimallar and otherwise non compatible devices and systems in industrial automation and security applications.··AS well as create some groovy products to sell. ·I will have built and installed my first BS2 based·multiple·device interpreter·by the end of this week.·If·the product sells well, I will·be buying alot of stamps and super carrier boards.· · Ill get some pictures and post em on the stamp forum.· Pretty simple but it pays.·
See you·guys next year for sure and befor then for kicks and giggles.·

I was very tempted to jump on a jet and just show up, but it would have cost me $3000USD to do so. It is a bit of a challenge being on the other side of earth.
