Good deal on large solderless breadboards

We got some big solderless breadboards in from China.
It took about 2 weeks to arrive and they are very nice!
16.99 ea and free shipping smile.gif

Plastic feet on the bottom...the individual boards are screw
mounted not adhesive mounted. This means you can keep
an extra unit with a set of 4 and swap boards in if they
wear out (everything wears out) this means they will have
a longer life. The base is non-conductive heavy plastic.

I'm going to remove one of the terminals from the top
and mount a small board with a dil propeller in a zif along
with 3.3v regulator, xtal etc.

These come with a huge allotment of flexible jumper
wires with pins mounted on both ends. I expected just
a few but they send a bunch of them.

Wow, Holly, ever wonder if you might be in the wrong business? Perhaps you should be brokering low-cost chinese gear instead ! :))

Ha! SureElectronics... I've ordered stuff from them quite a bit. Like many things from china, they offer REALLY good deals.

I bought a big lot(qty 100) 2000V, 0.33uf ceramic caps from them which I'm using in my marx generator(series connected).

I was eyeballing those, too, mctrivia. I have a few ~45W units at home, but man... the ones that ebayer is selling has my mind swimming with ideas.

Nice! I was thinking about making a 30 second beer cooler. What I had in mind was mounting these PJ's around a small metal box filled half way with water. The beer then sits down in this box, submerged in water, and the PJ's get the water ice cold super fast, maybe even freezing it a little. This way, the water conducts the heat away from the beer, into the PJ.

Or I could just put the beer in a bucket of water and ice, but what's the fun in that?

you will need a thermister in there to make sure the water does not drop below 0C otherwise you may have fun getting the beer out. also you can save batery power by turning off the unit when there is no need for it.

For my lunchbox I will be using a small foam cooler. Will cut out a square for the peltier. Will mount cpu heat sink inside with guard to keep stuff from hitting fan and large passive heat sink outside. I will be using the 18V Makita drill batteries to power it. 3Ah battery should keep cool for the day easily since I am using a fairly well insulated case to start and 4 thermistor to keep the temperature to control the cpu fan and peltier to keep about 3C. I am also going to add a 12v plug so I can plug in my BlackBerry Cellphone charger.

Too large for me. But one can actually they large breadboard and cut them into smaller ones [like the little ones the Parallax puts on their products].

Rough cut with a hacksaw and clean up with a utility knife.
