How can i switch between two analog signals.

I am creating a devise that will talk to a computer. The devise will go between the computer and a 0-5V analog sensor. I want to be able to pass the voltage·or stop the voltage and generate a new voltage from a DAC. I tried to use a·solid state relay but if I passed a 3V signal through the SSR it would drop by .15V.·The drop was not linear either. I need to be able to pass the voltage through a switch without any drop. Then I need to be able to turn it of and generate a·voltage with the DAC. Any ideas?

Look into using something like CD4051 CD4052 or CD4053. A solid state relay is not a good idea, as you have noticed.

Basically, you can use these chips to select your analog source...

There's nothing like a new idea and a warm soldering iron.
