I am working on making a sensor center to give sensor outputs and also run my cnc mill. As far as i know, the parallax can handle everything i want it to do, but i want to make a cad/cam program for my cnc mill. I know there are programs like this for Windows ce, but the experience of writing my own cad program almost outways "cheating" my way to it. So in your opinion should I get this display that runs windows ce http://www.comfiletech.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=132, or should i use the prop and this display which does not have windows ce http://www.comfiletech.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=129. I am thinking it would be easier for me to get the one w/out windows, but im not sure. Any help, comments, concerns, or opinions are greatly appreciated...What would you do?

It all really depends on your outlook - do you just want to get your CNC mill working quickly, regardless of the process? If so, go with the windows based unit and buy a good book on VB.net.

If you want to learn a lot along the way and would get more satisfaction from creating it from scratch - go with a Propeller, write your own SPIN code, your own UI etc. and make good use of the objects in the exchange at (obex.parallax.com)
