i bought 2 xbee 1mw modules from sparkfun. i want to use it to make 2 props talk. i understand that there is a program offered by Digi for configuring the devices called x-CTU. is anyone using it? how do i use it? do i need special hardware? Can i make something that will work?

    if you use them in AT mode you don't need to configure them at all. just use them is if they were a wired serial connection.

    I've been working on this recently. Unfortunately, I've had to move between then and now, and I'm still in the process of rebuilding my workshop so I can get back to work. Anyway, I made a thread:

    I've found the X-CTU program to be very easy to use. I found this tutorial (www.humboldt.edu/~cm19/XBee%20setup.pdf) that was helpful for that. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked yet. I'll certainly post what works in the other thread when I get time to work on it some more. I you get them to work, please post!

    Note that apparently there is a difference between series 2 and pre-series-2 modules that makes them incompatible.
