Interfacing a Serial-USB converter for to the BS2

I have a Serial-USB converter that has standard 3.3v I/O that I want to interface to the BS2. The BS2 expects standard RS232 voltage levels and therefore, I must modify my BS2. Looking at the BS2 schematic, there are some level shifting transistors that I believe I need to remove and then I can bypass them. Has anyone had experience with this?

    The stamp is a 5v device so I would make sure your adapter will work with it.
