Cameras and Props

Hello,
I'm a bit of a newb looking for advice.
I want to try some computer vision testing with the propeller. What I'm trying to achieve is the following:
Two propeller operated modules.
----On the first, a camera, some other sensors and a transceiver.
----On the second, another transceiver
The first module would be out on a robot for example collecting data and sending it back to the second module that would be connected to a computer running software which can process the information received. The computer would then send back control data to the robot.
What I am having difficulty with is how to get pictures back and into the software. I want to use Roborealm (a very cool bit of computer vision software) to receive the pictures and then issue commands back. If I get camera which outputs an RCA signal www.active-robots.com/products/sensors/sparkfun/light-imaging.shtml (the CMOS one, Product Code: SEN-08739) how can I read an image from this, pass it through the transceivers and get it into the computer?
I can't find much about people using anything other than the CMUcam(bit pricey fro me) with the prop so I'm looking for some solutions using lower cost cameras.
Thanks,
Dan
