Stamp 2pe and Serial Servo Controller

I understand the Stamp 2pe is not compatible with the serial based Servo Controller (#28023).· I've tried myself and have not been able to get the two modules to communicate with each other.

Does someone know why that is so?· Is there a work around?

It's not the BS2pe per se but the MoBoStamp-pe and other devices having series pin protection resistors that have difficulty with this product. The culprit is the Servo Controller's serial input structure:



A pin with a series protection resistor is not able to pull the input low enough, due to the current requirements of the LED. You could bias the pin a little lower with a resistor to ground, and it should work okay. You would have to experiment to find the right value. Another alternative that works well in the PSC's place for some apps is the ServoPAL.

I have used the ServoPAL with the 2pe MOBO, with no problems.
