Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I would NOT pay for anything via Western Union.

Just a warning to anyone responding to this post.

Dale I appologize if you are legit... But asking for Western Union payment is a BIG red flag that this might be a scam.

    In my defence...

It is a Western Union MONEY ORDER - this is what Australia Post uses for paper International Money Orders.
Australia Post is the official postal agency here in Australia. This is the only method of sending and receiving International Money Orders in Australia.
Identification (photo ID) with the payees address, etcetera, needs to be shown at a post office to receive funds from the money order.

Australians know that this is a practical and trusted method people use to send and receive money internationally.

It is a practical and safe way to send money to Australia. Bank (Cashier's) cheques attract a hefty fee, as they are drawn on an international bank, and would attract another $20-$30 to the cost, which neither me nor the buyer would be happy to pay.

Also have a PayPal account, but am unsure how this would work unles the items are listed on eBay.

I am willing to use other payment methods if the buyer wishes, (please see modified post) including listing the item on eBay. However trust is needed, even when making transactions on eBay.

To use paypal, you don't need to list anything on ebay - the buyer just logs into paypal and hits 'Send Money', selects 'Goods / Services' and enters your email address. Their exchange rate is very competitive, too.

I suggest that you have accurate information i.e. you bother to take the time to get your facts straight before you start sticking your nose in someone else's business.

Please recall your or modify your post.
    Dale,
    · Your first day on the forum and you are selling stuff on a support forum. Then you take offense when I try to caution other members, and get testy about it.

    · You may not have noticed that I have over 5500 posts on these forums since 2004, and I am a moderator.

    · I have no quarl with you, but I stand by my original post.

Paypal is even easier than that. The buyer doesn't even need a paypal account -- just a credit card. Here is a page that shows how. You need a website to use it. What? You don't have a website? Then get one. They're easy to set up and not expensive. Anyway, I've used this system from Paypal, and it's drop-dead easy to implement.

you have to have a seller account to use the credit card option. I have one and they nick you 3% on every transaction. worth it for the ease of getting money and they handle all the tax details asociated with my import/export license.
