Windows 7 Prop tool files

I have been using Windows 7 R.C. with Prop tool 1.2.6 for a couple of weeks now with no problems, but I could have sworn in the past with Vista I could copy spin files from the C:\Program files\Parallax Inc\Popeller Tool v1.2.x directory using Windows,Computer.· Am I wrong about that? Now I can't see any of my new files using Windows,Computer- but I do see them when using the Prop tool.·All I can see using Windows,Computer is only the files that came with Prop tool(not the new one's I've added).·Maybe I am wrong about my memory? Thanks for anybody that can set my memory straight(I did have a stroke a couple years ago!)

I'm running the Windows 7 Beta. I just tried saving something in the place with all the objects (that came with the Prop Tool), and it saved fine and I could see it within the editor, but when i went to find it in windows explorer it wasn't there. I'm pretty sure that it would work in vista, all my windows xp machines have been able to see it. Some weird thing in Windows 7 I guess.

This sounds like the UAC feature that shadows your Program Files folder. I don't use Windows 7 but this has been an occasional issue on Vista.

If this is the same problem you may find your missing files under something like C:\Users\<username>\local\VirtualStore\Program Files (depending on your setup). I avoid the problem by not using the Program Files folder to store files, but old habits die hard :)

Thanks for that tid bit, I haven't turned down the setting for the UAC yet, I'll play with that.

Are you using the 64 bit version of 7? If so you might need to check the "other" program files folder, aptly named "Program Files (x86)".

No it's the 32 bit version, and I can't see any of previous files I saved using the tool, but I can see any new one's I've added since I've turned the UAC down now. Thanks
