MLX90614 "Fails" with Sample Code?

I just received a brand spanking new MLX90614. I've wired it up with +5 to Vdd, Gnd to VSS, Rst to Pin 1, Alr to Pin 2, and Sig to Pin 3. I'm trying to run the sample code provided on the web site (MLX90614_Demo-Simple.BS2), but all I seem to get is "Fail" out of this unit. . .I've never had demo code fail before. . .am I just missing something stupid? Help! Thanks!

    So the unit just randomly started working fine. . .any ideas on why it would be a tad flaky? I didn't change anything just power cycled it. . .and presto. . .???? This doesn't bode well for my application. I need the unit to work every time and all the time. . .

    Try it a few more times and if it works OK you probably had a loose connection or something.

    I've rewired it a few times. . .seems okay. . .must have been a loose wire?? I'll post again if I see continued problems. Thanks!
