Is my Datalogger DOA?

Should the Datalogger show any sign of life when it is powered on, regardless of whether I'm trying to talk to it, or whether a flash drive is connected?

I'm working on a temperature control/logging application based on an Arduino. I've successfully hooked up an RTC, sensors, and a relay, and the Arduino seems to provide enough power for them all. But when I disconnected them and tried to hook up the Datalogger (#27937), I get nothing. I have wired it for UART and SPI mode, and even hooked up only Vss and Vdd, but I get no signs of life from the onboard LEDs that Parallax's docs say should be there.

I have let it run for a few minutes with no change. Is it likely dead? Is there something in particular I should try? Do any of the LEDs illuminate before the EEee sync process begins? Is this all covered in a datasheet that I missed?

Thanks for any assistance you might be able to render.

-Lauren

How many volts, are you supplying to the board? What kind of power supply?

The Arduino is running off USB power, and the Datalogger is running off its 5V rail. Hmmm...that just clicked with something I read last night: if the Arduino is supplied with less than 7V, its 5V regulator might not produce its rated output. That makes sense, actually. Good question! I'll go find a 7-9V or supply and see what it will do.
