Crowbar with a counter?

I was reading the PE Lab on counters(which is well written by the way) and I started wondering:

If I set a counter to Differential Duty mode and set apin and bpin to the same pin what happens?

I know there is a big OR circuit to protect the outputs from different cogs, but what about the counter within a cog?

Thanks,
Doug

My feeling is that we can be very sure that nothing's damaged in this case. The only question is: Who wins? Counter A or Counter B or maybe OUTA or what if you also connect the video generator output to that pin. My guess it that there is an OR as well.

My guess is that the pin will just remain high. If there were two pins, one would be high and the other one low. With one pin, the output would be the OR of these two, either (0,1) or (1,0), both of which result in a 1.
