BS0710-USB inputs

Hi, I´m working in a stepper motor project and·looking for·a good motor controller. ·The BS0710-USB board would fit my requirements except for one issue:
I will use a single stepper motor to control a pneumatic drill in just one axis, the motor moves the drill up and down. It is important to know when the motor is on the top and bottom limits (here I have to use the LX+ and LX- inputs of the board). It´s also important to know (and stop the motor) when the drill touches the surface (here I need another input).
This third input must be able to be turned on/off by software (through USB). It should be ON when the drill is going down and the surface has to be detected, and it should be OFF when the drill is doing the hole.
Can I use the "LY-" as this third limit input?

It's possible to control a stepper motor using a Stamp and some kind of power driver, as simple as a couple of power transistors and resistors. If so, according to the documentation the LY- input may be used as a limit for -Y only. If you have more detailed questions on that feature you can definitely e-mail the manufacturer. They're very good at supporting their products. Take care.
