Spin Stamp Microcontroler and Boebot

It looks like to me that the spin stamp micro-controller can physically plug right into the Board of Education board on the Boebot;
but I notice that the spin stamp micro-controller is designed to run on 3.3 volts.
The spin stamp micro-controller says it has the proper 3.3 volt voltage regulator built in, but what I did not understand is
if once I plugged it into my basic education board, if then VDD would be at a voltage of 3.3 volts, or does the Board of Education
board that comes with the BOE bot have its own voltage regulator, that would make these values come up to 5 volts?
